Encompassing nearly a million acres, the park is home to a vast wilderness, many years of human history, and various distinctly different ecosystems, including glacier-capped mountains, old-growth temperate rain forests, and over 70 miles of coastline.
There are plenty of activities to do in the Olympic National Park; boating, fishing, tide pooling, camping, day hikes, bag packing, wildlife viewing, climbing and night sky programs. Also, there are other activities for the winter and special events every now and then. The Olympic National Park offers rustic cabins, historic lodges, and charming resorts; it offers a variety of lodging experiences and also miles of trails and numerous backcountry campsites. The park is senior-citizen friendly and is suitable for families and friends.
